Because google likes quality content, and quality content is unique. If you blast all your aticles to blog directions/ article directories you are going to give them the unique content, then google is going to see your website and be like hey, he just copied the content off these article directories/ blog directories.

Post the articles on your blog first. After, and ONLY after Google has indexed the article on your website, then post it to article directories. However always make sure you include a link back to the original article in the directory submission article.
