That made for quite an interesting read, he has made a fair few points which seem valid, I personally never realised that google +1's were worth so much - need to invest a bit more time in getting more of those now!
Did you visit Mars and just come back to Earth? Maybe on an operation Virgle alpha or beta trip or something (I am kidding btw) I mean, how could you not know that since the whole Google + and Google +1 thing that the G has now been promoting (though mostly freely by others and what they say) the SN thing due to their reactions and fears of the FB thing as they want to draw you in to the G things that are their answer to the FB thing? (if you get my drift?)
Are they actually worth anything? Not really at this time except for personalised search. Google have mentioned several times it's an unreliable signal (look at all those services selling +1s, likes, retweets, followers, etc, to understand why - i.e. like anything, it's heavily spammed and abused). First of all you can create a google plus page for your website alike that fb page for your website/company/organization etc.Then add your friends in your circle.Post the interesting news/jokes/movies/news about your website & you think what people like.By doing this you would create a circle of lots of people and also improve the visibility of your website on google plus.In coming days google plus make a huge difference.
