I had a couple of questions, well a little more, but I was hoping you would answer.
When was the first time you got a PR 1 or better?

How long did it take for you to achieve a rank from the day you started working?
How many hours did you put into your advertising?

How much money did you spend on directories and articles?

I would really appreciate it if you guys answered these questions. It will help me analyse my position and know what I have to do more.

It tool me almost 6 months to get PR 1. The best part is that, I haven't worked that much on my site but all I did was directory submission...

I never spent any money on directory submission; I did it myself and always do it myself.

It took me 3 months to get a PageRank of 3, after wards I lost interest in PR for some reasons. :)

I don't spend money on those things, I do it myself.

Personally, I received a PR 2 at about 2 months later after I put it online and started to build back links for it. Mainly, I build back links via blogging, forum posting and signature links and social bookmarking.

    have a nice day,

It took me about a month to get a PR1 for my site, without spending anything for advertisements. I made web directory submissions only to worthy sites, since web directories don't really count so much for me. Spent more time on blogging, social networking backlinks, and community participation. Also got a little help from sharing my site links to friends who found my content useful and decided to share it to other people/sites.

I don't spend money in such type of submission and submission software...I believe in manual submission...
