Use flash only where needed. Its fine for a header graphic, but dont make your whole site that way. It's not just for SEO either. It effects the way users view your website. It looks cool but has a negative effect on the ease of use. This means negative effect for your website. Integrate flash subtley. Think of it this way, only use flash in places where it improves the user experience. As far as seo, dont spend to much time. Eliminate duplicate content, get targeted title tags, and h1's and makes sure you are linking internally in your site from you pages to other important pages. That is most of the battle. Now go get good links.

Although some say the Flash can be SEOed, none of the sites will rank. This is why, most flash site must be redesigned to do competitive SEO.

With this said, it is not the flash element that is bad, it is the internal flash navigation that is. When we chop up the flash into standalone elements, we are very successful.

But to the Flash programmer/web designers, you are harming your clients by using flash. It might be pretty, but they will have to redesign the site if the start internet marketing. And then, your name rep will be negative.
