Im a affiliate for a company and what i do is cloak up my affiliate link to make it shorter

Through Social Bookmarkings that Cloaked link along with my ad has reached page 14 on Googles on a popular keyword related to what im promoting

How do i go about getting that URL Link in to the top 10 in the Google Search Engines?

concentrate on getting your website ranking well, not the cloaked affiliate link

Correct. Google doesn't like cloaking so if your cloaked URL was to reach the top your website would be banned anyway, correct?

That is a no-no, you want your site to rank well.

So your saying that affiliate website would get banned? if thats the case then i wont attempt to move it up the rankings

What if i just got my own domain for that website?

No, affiliate pages are fine but the word that you used is 'cloaking', not affiliate.

No. I am saying do SEO for your website, not for an affiliate link.

I dont have my own personel website. Im just a affiliate who promotes a particular website or websites.

Would you recommend me getting my own domain for this website?

The company i market allows you to customize there website through your domain and they provide the payment page.

I'll try to make this as simple as possible :)

You want to purchase your own domain name, related to whatever affilate program(s) your using. Then you'll need to pay monthly for hosting service with some hosting company. You should then build a site based around these affilate programs, not just links. Write about them, produce stories or data based on them. You need to explain WHY these people NEED this product or service and they should use YOUR site to determine this because your content was VERY convincing. You'll find this to work out MUCH better than what your doing now.

Im new to SEO so i thought you could use your affiliate link for the company you are promoting for search engines. I got to page 14 just on one of my keywords from backlinks.

I will take your advice and get my own domain. Right now i cant afford my own website, but the company im promoting allows you to customize there website for free and they provide the landing page

You won't get to the top of the search engines with duplicate content. Getting a .info at Godaddy is only about $1. Well worth the investment :)

Duplicate content means there website, but with a different website title you mean

They allow there affiliates to customize there website so that you can put your domain title on there website. For example

if there website is called "Watch Live TV Online"

You can replace that with "Live TV Network Online" if thats my domain name title

And they provide the payment page so they get there sales credit

Duplicate content means it the same text on one site as another. You cannot copy the data on someones website, put it on yours and expect search engines not to notice. You need your own unique, self written content on your site. Content means words by the way :D

    Thanks

I think we had a misunderstanding on the copy part. I am not just copying some random website. The affiliate company i work allows affiliates to customize the existing websites through there domains and the affiliate program provides the payment signup page.

You can also build your own website and they provide the signup page where the affiliate company and affiliate gets a percentage of the sales
