You can safely use forum signatures, social bookmarking and guest posting as long as you keep everything clean. Remember that when you create backlinks you want quality over quantity. Search pages with good PR and build links with them. What comes to directory submission I'd say that it's ok as long as you do it manually. Stay away from auto submission services as most of them doesn't even work.
I'd say for organic clicks, Directories are brilliant, I think the directory neighborhood you associate yourself with is more important. Possibly using a different domain name with 301 redirect would be the best option. Or by using a short URL. Directories are not really as effective for SERP improvement really, unless it is unique and a non-paid directory. I would rely on these links more so for traffic coming directly from users searching that directory. Also like 'dailycoins' stated, by using non automated forms, your directory submissions are chosen carefully and therefore your link doesn't end up on a 'bad neighboring' website.
It's very Common question, Most of people do ask this same question related to Directory, Article, Local Listing etc ! Google doesn't hat directory submission but yes Google hat Spamming Directory Submission Work. After many update of Google Algorithm Update, Google came with different types of changes But Google didn't give target statement that stop directory submission. Do directory submission but quality & authorized high directories. 90% American do directory submission but they use only high quality & authorized Directories Submission.
Directories work provided they are relevant and authoritative - ie. does it make sense for your business to be listed there? As stated above, the main purpose is to get organic traffic that finds the directory when searching, but they still add some link juice. As with all back linking, stay out of the crappy/spammy sites, build links over time and look natural.
I always check a site's onpage seo first before I go with offpage (director, site submissions, link building and the likes)... if it's all ok, then go for these strategies. Do not be afraid. As long as you're doing it naturally.
I usually see this kind of problem from SEO company or individual, there is always a doubt on their activities so why did they take this job if they didn't know what to do? As an optimizer you must know what to do even if there are minor and major updates coming in Google search engine.
If you are going to use forum and blogs for off page strategies make sure to build relationship instead of link building alone. It won't help much since relationship building is the thing now.
Just don't overdo it. I would suggest manual submission over automatic. I think website owners might be able to tell which is which because some software shows people signed up with such unusual names or long, complicated usernames and emails. (Of course, some of the most current ones have human verification.)
well I am afraid but you need to understand this i.e. Directory submission are way long dead, so I would be better if you start removing links from the directories, and as far as Social book marking, forum signatures, press release is concerned it is still useful keep going on you can rely on these.
Manual submission to well organized directories with good PR still works like gangbusters. What gets people in trouble is the attempt to scale it up insanely, by automating submissions to lots of sub-par directories. That creates an easy footprint for Google to catch and penalize.
Any useful and original article/post on Wordpress is much better than PR3-PR4-PR5 directory link. People loves read useful and original content and hates to visit low-quality directories. Make the content - don't waste your time and money on directories submission.
Directory submission is good but you have to do other link building types too. If you just do directory submission it's more of citations for local businesses. For seo (not local), you need to know what will work and won't work. Maybe outsource to a legit seo company until you fully understand how it works so it doesn't hurt your business if you don't get the results you're trying to obtain. Keywords to promote, well since I do not know your niche I won't fully know but if you want to know a what your anchor profile should look like you should target your naked URL of the site, brand, brand variations, lsi, generic keywords and finally your money keywords. The linkbuilding ways you mentioned are a good start. You need all of those types plus videos, pdf share, some real guest posts, and please make sure the tier 1 links are manually made and not automation. You may use automation at higher tiers but the websites connecting to the clients website should be all manually made. Cheers and let me know if you require assistance.
> do work at Directories site for promote keywords or not ? Only few, very specific niche directories are worth the effort. For example, if you have a web design studio in Florida, USA, then look for Florida directories and for web designer directories plus a few very established directories, like Yahoo!, Best of the Web or JoeAnt. Anything beyond that will just play against you. > and what i use for keyword promote ? Do you mind adding a few more details here? I didn't really understand the question. > social bookmarking ? Run a site: search on Google and you will notice there are only two (yes, 2) largely known social bookmarking sites in Google index. You would get no effect from that. > forum signatures ? Useful if you actively take part of the forum. Useless if you create a profile in 4501237 forums just for the profile link. > web 2.0 ? mm... Confused. Are you aware of the fact almost every website out there now is a web 2.0 site? > press release ? If you use PRweb you will get best results. > Blog Comments ? Useful for direct traffic. Not really useful for rankings. Hope this helps.
Agent000, you beat me to this... to OP, why are you taking on projects if you don't know how to do SEO? wouldn't it be better to learn first and then sell something decent?
