Hi Everyone, I just had a question for some of the SEO experts out there. I am still pretty new to SEO and trying to learn some more things. I was searching for a movie here at one of the local theaters over the weekend. The theater company I was looking for is called "Cineplex Odeon". I put this into google and got the following results, with AMC Theaters coming up first. I don't see any mention of Cineplex anywhere on their website, or int their cached version. Also, I did a search on pages that are linked to AMC theaters and I did not see any links with "Cineplex Odeon" anchor text. Is there another part of SEO techniques that I may be overlooking, or would anyone have an idea how this could be happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if you do not care to share it on the board, you can send me a PM. Thanks!
The clue's in the cached page; if you click on Google's "Cached" link in these results, you'll see the phrase "These terms only appear in links pointing to this page: cineplex odeon". This means there are web pages out there that are linking to this website with the anchor text "cineplex odeon", and so therefore Google thinks this website is relevant for that term.
Cool... thanks for the info. I tried searching for sites linking with that anchor text but couldn't find any. They must be buried heavily. Thanks for the response!
