Hello!! I'm not sure if this is correct or not but I read that if you have roughly 5 articles written, and you submit them to...well... im not exactly sure where, article sites, and review sites/directories. You'll increase your back-links and page rank. I was wondering If i have a few typed up like lets say 650 word articles. Would it be a good idea to do that with like 1 or 2 articles or would that hurt my page rank on the next update? My Website is HERE Your input is really appreciated, ~ Alex
Won't hurt as long as the articles are original and you don't send them to 100s of article directories. Make sure to check the PR of the site where you place the articles.
Any link to your site (from a page that has been indexed by Google) is going to help you, so distributing articles is a good way to get links, particularly if the article directory has a high page rank. The number of links you need to get to the first page of Google is dependent on your keywords (i.e. the more competitive your keywords, the more links you will need). I usually submit a couple of 500 word articles a week using SubmitYourArticle.com. Other ways to increase your page rank are submitting to directories, exchanging links, commenting on blogs (that don't use nofollow), posting in forums with your link in your sig, distributing press releases online. Cheers, Suzanne
unique content cannot hurt you, though personally i would put the orig article on my own site b4 submitting the article (rewritten naturally)
I've noticed a quick way to do it is to put adsense on your site as google has to crawl it in order to figure out what your site is about so that it can display contextual ads. Its not instant though.
Nor is it the right answer.... since the Adsense bot does not index pages. The indexing bot is googlebot.... This is why they asked for SEO professionals to respond ..... and not those who are just spreading misinformation.....
Ha.. thanks. And yes they are different, but I've seen one of my sites get indexed quickly before simply for having adsense on with no other links to it, not even analytics code. P.s. the guy I responded to didnt ask for a professional, the first guy did
I would agree with this. Relevant articles, original content on high PR site. You won't get penalised for having just 1 or 2 articles because you need to start somewhere!
Out of interest, why would it hurt to have the article submitted to 100s of directories? News and articles are syndicated all the time, usually the more popular a story / article is the more it is copied. As long as they all link back to your site how is it a bad thing?
I can't see a bad effect on your site. As long as you have a fresh content and submitting it at different article sites that will be just fine. And about the 650 word articles I think that is too many for an article site that offers 400 to 450 words only. But don't mind me.. there are still other article sites that offers more than 600.
Alex, If the articles you are submitting to these article directories are already on your site, it may actually hurt your PR. The best thing to do in this situation would be to moderately rewrite the article until it is about 40% unique and then submit to the directories. While it is true that Google loves quality back links, they frown upon websites that have duplicate content. HTH
doesn't matter at all if u submit a same copy to diff article directories unless it is rejected by that particular directory for some reason...ne ways PR dsnt depend on uniqueness of ur articles but on the PR of the page on which ur link is placed (author bio/resource box or directly hyperlinked in article)
