    Hi Everyone!

New here, and here's my first Q... hope it's not too stupid :D

I'm hoping I can get advice on this question......

What I want to ask is, when I use on the page SEO for any other page EXCEPT the index page, then will the search engines show the full URL of those pages as the result? Or will it show the top-level domain name?

    Example:

    I optimise http://www.abc.com/news.html for keywords A, B, C

When the page is indexed, and returned as a result for a user search on A, B or C, will it show:

    http://www.abc.com/news.html

    or

    http://www.abc.com/

    I have another un-related question :)

    - Incoming links, do other pages on your own website count for anything if they all link back to the index page?

    Thanks in advance!

it will most likely show "http://www.abc.com/news.html", as you dont have the keywords on the top level domain which are being searched

All things being equal it should show "http://www.abc.com/news.html" and a secondary result of "http://www.abc.com". Of course thats just wishful thinking. Also links to your homepage from your interior pages of course count towards your backlinks. In fact all your interior pages should link to your homepage with optimized link text. The links apparently do not count as much towards your PR as an off page link from a good site, but they still count.

    i agree with that.

The second question about the internl links it a bit more complicated. Here is how it works:
Your website's total PR is shared among all your indexed pages. The pages in your site with more internal links get a larger share of the PR. Which means that if you have a page that has 10 internal links it will be seen as more important than a page that only has 2 internal links.
