I have set up a self hosted WP blog and my most recent posts appear on the home page of the blog. I am not going to mention the specific blog. The good news is that each new post lately gets indexed on the home page fairly promptly, although the permalink for that post does not appear to be indexed at same time. However, as new posts are written, the older posts coming off the home page seem to lose their indexing or end up in supplemental results. Appreciate any general input thanks
your blog is farly new. once you have more prosts and more backlinks, you will see better result for indexing. you are not using your recent blog feed option now. yuo can plug in your recent blog feed under your DP cpntrol panel/edit options (just enter the feed url at the end of the page where you see recent blog feed option) and you will get better result on indexing since google will follow your recent blog feed to your blog. also, doing some social bookmarking will help you to get indexed as well
Can someone explain this a little bit? What is DP control panel? If you mean WP control panel, I looked there and do not see "edit options"? Thanks for the clarification! ETA: ooooh I see, you mean Digital Point control panel.
Interlink the posts on your blog. Don't rely on the default Wordpress page structure to spread link juice to posts that are no longer on the main page. Take a look at this post about interlinking blog posts.
So I suppose it would be better to change settings in wordpress to show as many posts as possible on the main page? Another question, what if you set a static page as your blog home page, how will blog posts be indexed in that case?
