SEO Question: Can my blogs pages have their own PR?

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by Mkcoy, Sep 6, 2009.

My site is still PR0 but my last post is PR3.

I finished the post and bookmarked it using some dofollow bookmark sites. That's all I've done.

I use the AlexaSparky and SearchStatus firefox plugin and they are both saying the same thing.

I only made that post earlier on. Is it possible for individual posts to have their own PR? And gain it within a matter of hours? Or am I missing something.

    My site www.sellyourmobile.info/ PR0
    My latest post http://www.sellyourmobile.info/2009/09/comparison-review-mopay-vs-fonebank.html PR3.

    Can anyone confirm this?

The post shows up as PR N/A while the site shows PR0 on Google's toolbar for me.

All the pages on a website does have their own PR though. It is also possible for a subpage to have a higher PR then the homepage if it has more and higher quality backlinks.

if your homepage has PR, and if the blogs posts are on the homepage when the snapshot is taken (last time the bot visit ur pages before the visible pr update), then they will get their own PR in the next Google page rank update, PR is not updated instantly, the Google pr update occurs only a few times per year.

Yeah I know it does. That is why it is strange that it is showing as PR3 when I only made and posted that post today. Well yesterday now. Has Google done it's PR update yet?

High authority sites that updates frequent have some changes of page's PR (blog posts). It is rare to see new blogs get pages PR as no PR update is going on now. It is expected by end of this month. Probably, you will be able to see some PR changes in your internal pages/blog post in 2-3 weeks time.

I just checked your site and all it's internal pages PR, none have more than PR0. All pages with PR0 and N/A.

Sometimes, pagerank reader displays PR of earlier page that we visited. It is common on searchstatus plugin and even google toolbar. Probably, the earlier page that you visited before opening your post might have PR3.

Page Rank will not be updated frequently. It will done once in a certain period and I have noticed your homepage PR and the blog post PR and both of this showing only as PR0. I think you have seen the PR of some other website which has PR3 and came to your website. When we are seeing one website and moving to the other website then the PR will not be changed immediately it will take some time to appear in your screen.

Now you can check your home page and the blog posted page that both will show only PR as N/A. That is PR0.

    I beg to differ ..
I have read somewhere that the PR gets updated very very frequently
PR is an integer something like 1.42562659832758 though G Page rank query servers only show 1 and will update few times
But for all internal operations like Search Query the latest PR integer is used .. and PR is just one of the 100's of factors considered in SERP

okay then let me explain to you :)

first, the OP is talking about the Visible pr, he pr that we are able to see in the toolbar, it is basically a numerical value which reflects the importance of your back links,

this numerical value is indeed updated each time a page gets a new link, however you don't get to see it live or instantaneously, you only get to see it a few times per year when Google launch it's pr update, also PR is not an Integer, the public see page rank as an integer ( 0 to 10, not 0.11), Pr is a float but you just get to see the "integer" in your official toolbar (rounded figure) , the exact float value (for example pr5.2411 is not public and is undisclosed.)

now the real Page rank that google uses to rank websites is also undisclosed to the public and take into account more than 200 ranking favors , also they all are tweaked, changed, updated at least 400-500 times per year according to matt cuts, this real page rank, you don't get to see it "at all".

^^ So its true what i exactly thought ... :) thanks for explaining it :)
    {and it was a typo error .. I was about to tell "PR is an float something like 1.42562659832758" but wrote 'integer' instead of float :p }

Your home page is PR 0 but your said post PR N/A. Some time deep link or post page get high pr then home page because if you have build good quantity back link form authority site compare then you main url so it will get pr on that particular page PR

I have a pr 3 site with a pr 5 page (I worked super hard on that page), so it happens and it's usually a good thing for weighting

It is possible for an inner page to have a higher Google Page Rank than the home page. All it requires is more and/or better links than the home page. It's not typical but it does happen sometimes.

And as funkymario explained, you are basically looking at a snapshot of your pages' PRs from some point in the past... weeks before the last PR update. The actual PR of your URLs is updated constantly but is NEVER visible. The toolbar PR of you URLs is only updated once every few months and ALWAYS out of date.

Stop worrying about PR. The PR of your URL has VERY little influence on how it ranks for a particular keyword phrase.

Just checked both pages and they show a PR0 and N/A. Trying adding at least 2000 more words of quality content on each page and wait a month or two. That should work.
