Hi, I was wondering can the number of links on your page affect serps, not talking about external links to other sites, but links to internal pages. Had a look at my main competitors and they have only one or two links to internal pages. Is their something about text to links ratio. My competitors sites do not have much text either, alot of css, no use of H1 tags etc. i am wondering for www.learningsteps.com should i consider a homepage redesign with little content and only one or two links to internal course catalog pages. in the redesign i would try keep text as close to top left as possible as i believe this helps with SEO any recommedations. Also anyone got any recommedations on css templates to use, is the Three Column SEO Friendly CSS Template as good as they say. Looking forward to some great feedback as always. Kind Regards Fergal.
Yes, the internal structure of links is very important. Be smart, link smart and it will help gaining better ranks.
Internal links usually refer a document to another section of the same document or other relevant resource that may be on or part of the same website, so as far as your links meeting the purpose, the number of links should not put any bad affect to SERPs.
It would not really affects your SERP rankings. But too many site external links affects on gaining PR juice to your site.
In accordance with Google's official webmaster guidlines "Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100)." http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35769#1
Hello, If you link internal link it will help in your SERP ranking, there are many websites ranking 1 only with internal links, but of course the keywords are not very competitive. Best, Jakomo
