    Number of incoming links needed to get to PR1 varies but you should need just a handful. The problem is that being PR1 doesn't do much for SEPR. I agree that since you are using edddir as you username here (and this is one of those high authority sites), you brand new site will be easily pushed further down in results. You need to do SEO (on-page and yes, link building) if you want serious results.

    When you list Free Directories, make sure that they are not on G's shit list. A site with a GrayBar or no page rank should tell you something.
