    SEO means Search Engine Optimization.you need to submit your link in various websites like social networking,bookmarking,web directories etc.you must have to submit your site in Dofollow websites otherwise you will not get backlinks.

    I would suggest starting to read blogs such as SEOmoz and SEObook. You will also want to check out Google's Webmaster Guidelines.
