I have recently launched a new forum, I installed an auto content generator script to fill up the site. The auto content generator script extracts the content from Yahoo Answers.

    For Example
    Yahoo URL - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080124002500AAPOYWR
    My url - http://funexa.com/air-travel/9867-anyone-know-cheap-airlines-canada.html

My site is duplicating the content from yahoo. Please review both the urls. My question is - Is it helpful for SEO? Will Search Engines recognize these content? Does it worth anyhow?

    Please leave your feedback.

Iam doubtful that this will help in seo but yes search engines will crawl these type of matter also and just for filling up the forum i think its not a bad idea... (filling up the forum in initial stages)

Duplicating content is not a great idea from a search engine bot perspective. It might encourage some users to stick around until it became a lively forum rather than a scraped forum. I wouldn't keep it going that way for long.

I agree - content duplication is not a good thing for SEO.
It seems that you have a lot of posts at this point...so I don't think it's necessary to duplicate content at this point .

If you could auto-spin your content...but then again it might not be readable after that. Another thing to consider is that your domain is only a few months old. Google, as an example, is smart enough to figure out that a domain registered 4 months ago with little to no traffic to speak of will not have the following stats:

    Total Threads: 10,011
    Total Posts: 26,800
    Total Members: 20,733
    Active Members: 10,100

When I want to shove a crap-load of content into a site I make sure the domain is at least 4 years old.

    Best of luck,

    David

your forum has a good seo but bad content. dont wait a huge traffic in near future but it can happen slowly after a while.

Yes, I agree with you. Actually I am also not expecting a huge amount of traffic in near future.

The duplication of content is definitely bad for the SEO prospectus and it should be removed.
