    SMO gives our site Traffic but if you need actual customer that target your product then you should go for SEO . it will gives ranking in major search engines with the audience that want to listen from you.

    I think first SEO than SMO. But both are important.
    In my opinion SEO will help you to get automatic returning visitors.
    SMO you will still have to keep track to get your visitors

    You need both methods. If you have a new website, it is bit difficult to build traffic from search engines within few months. You may have to use paid methods like CPC or banner advertising. But you can cut down your advertising cost by using SEO in long run.

    Well my website used to be on 19000 ranks among Pakistan website but now a days my website status not showing Pakistan rank on Alexa.
