SEO or SMO Which is most Imp. for Traffic

One of the nice things about SMO is that your audience has a heavier influence over traffic and persistence, whereas standard SEO practices require more work on your part. Really, the magic begins when your SEO strategy incorporates social media in ways that bolster your target search terms and target markets alike. SEO and SMO are certainly NOT mutually exclusive.

 

Both are important for sites traffic...

 

Fast Traffic = SMO
Better SERP Result = SEO

 

That's pretty much what everyone is saying and it's true.. But consider this: social media provides the channels and cultivates community but SEO helps build that community by grabbing visitors you may have missed otherwise. SMO relies more on the initial visitors to spread the word about your content whereas SEO is a lot more organic for site growth. With SMO, you provide valuable communication channels but, with the SEO work surrounding that, you provide needed context and, by extension, target messages much more effectively.

Basically, SMO is great on it's own. SEO is great on it's own too. Together, they are awesome. There are few reasons NOT to combine the efforts. If the question here is which you should cultivate first, then the answer depends on what your initial focus is and how compelling your content is. SMO will succeed much faster if you have something really special, whereas SEO provides needed context and positioning to help you stand out, even if your content is not quite remarkable.

It's important to note that SMO depends heavily on the community whereas SEO depends more on context that search engines can identify and catalog easily.. Yet there is overlap so, again, they are not mutually exclusive. What I find interesting is how SMO is being referred to as if it is something new, yet social media is hardly in it's infancy. If you have better SERP results, would it not bring you more visitors and, quite possibly, more opportunities to increase sharing, votes, etc. of your social media? Certainly, they go hand-in-hand. 8)

I think the most impotant is SEO rather than SMO, with seo you can get traffict for long term.

 

SEO = long term target traffic
SMO = short term target traffic

 

if you want quick response then smo is good but for long result seo is more good.........

 

Both SEO and SMO need to be done. SMO would be great if you can get your marketing message across to them, its quicker response but harder to measure than SEO.

In terms of promotion, you need to give them an incentive you actually want to communicate your message to others using different social media channels.

 

SMO and SEO these are two different things and both are important for our website. We promote our website with the help of seo techniques but can't generate more traffic without smo.

And smo techniques we use for generating more traffic for our website but without seo, smo is totally useless.
