SEO Optimization Two Separate Sites

Ok, I have two sites, listed below in the signature.

I can obviously save money if I host both sites on the same server and mask the domain. Is this smart from an SEO prospective?

Right now they are both being hosted independently. I'm thinking that one advantage is that I can link from one site to the other and that would be voided if it's on the same site.

    Thanks

It seems both the site have different objectives, one provides event timing and database management for running road races and other provides listing of them. These can be on 2 separate servers. Masking the domain is not smart SEO objective, the real objective should be developing a informative site on any niche and allow them to grow naturally. To me your plan is excellent if I understand the site functionality correctly.

By the way, you have forgotten to add .com to your 2nd URL :)

i don't think that hosting both sites on the same server is going to affect your website SEO adversely. it happens when there are several websites interconnected

You are hosting only two sites and they are quite different from each other,so the is no problem with hosting on same server.Follow SEO to get results.

You can host thousand of websites on same server and interlink them. It will never create any problem...don't worry

You're wrong- Don't you think interlinking a thousand sites all hosted on the same IP might 'raise a few eyebrows'? Of course search engines will pick up on this at some point. At the very least ignore these interlinked links, probably worse.

there is no profit in terms of ranking when you want to host the website on a same server or there is nothing related to the hosting for ranking......

the other thing ...linking the two sites wil not give you any profit as they are both from different niche....thus both of them is nothing good ....try to build links for both of them through any means and this will help you alot

To the OP interlinking on the same server will do no good.

Otherwise we would all build 1000s of sites and link to ourselves.

Google hires CS majors at the top of their class to out think most people who have posted here.....

Remember the amount of people with any real SEO understanding is probably less than 1%

    Interlinking  LOL......
