I'm planning to start a website with funny pictures to learn more and i have some questions regarding this matter:

Does google images bring alot of traffic?

I plan to develop some ajax so the user don't need the page to be "refreshed" when he clicks next to see a new image, any tips on how google can still index it?

How does google organize images on google images, is it still by image tags, page rank and this kind of stuff?

If you have any kind of tips and it isn't SEO related, feel free to tell me! I really appreciate it :D:D:D

    Thanks in advance.

Adding Ajax could make things a bit worse for an already difficult niche i.e. images. Well, optimizing for images is quite easy but getting results can be a tough task as Google's image search is not as smart and accurate as its contextual search.

What I can say is keep your alt image steady. But also try to have some contents. Without contents it is very difficult.

google image can bring you a lot of traffic but how well that traffic will convert is the question. i get decent volume of google image traffic to one of my sites but i dont see that traffic converting well. it totally depends on your niche. regarding optimizing, you can name the image with your keyword in it like "funny-picture1.jpg" and use alt text to put a little description. then you can include a short decription below each image. if all the images are relevant, then you can also include a paragraph or two at the end of the page which will ad some text content to the pages. then ofcourse you will need to do offsite promotion/link building to gain traffic and increase your serp ranking
