nor sure if this is the right category...but here is mt question. I run a nitch job board...and the domain is not keyword rich or a generic descriptive...ie..(the word job or career, etc..is not in the primary domain) I recently purchased some keyword rich domains... I researched on google keywords and 1 gets over 45,000 searches a month and the other like 5,ooo a month. My questions is this ...the domain and name of the company is brandable (imho) the new domains i mentioned are not so brandable but odviously get searched on a lot. what is the best way to integrate this... i read that google frowns upon multiple sites... ty
Google does frown on multiple sites, based on the reasoning that if you have multiple sites you likely aren't going to be able to put enough effort into each one. Each one needs plenty of unique content and you shouldn't cross link these websites. In your case, you have a bit of a problem in that you would most likely want to share your job database across all of these websites. This could lead to major duplicate content problems. If I were you, I would just keep focusing on your main website. If you want to target extra terms, create pages or subdomains that target those keywords. If you do want to run all of these websites separately, you will need to find a creative way to get people from the feeder sites to your main site (without the search engines noticing).
