Hi I have done SEO on a keyword in an effort to rank it higher. The keyword use to rank 12 in google. I have done the following -Bookmarked the "Keywords URL" in 20 different bookmarking sites -Submitted the "Keywords URL" to 20 different social netwroking site -Submitted 40 articles with "Keywords URL" in the footer -Created 2 Squidoo pages with links to "Keywords URL" -Then I created 500 forum profile links with links to the 2 squidoo pages (To get the squidoo pages rank up) I checked the google rank after doing the above and my keyword has dropped from 12th place to 30-40 place. Does anyone know why this has happened?? Why has the rank gone down?? I have read that it will go up in time, is this right??
Hi, This can and does happen when you over promote your website in such a short period of time (which can be seen as a Black Hat method), especially in well recognized areas. Google requires time to understand and determine your keyword relevance, so I would suggest waiting at least 2-3 weeks and checking your results again. Have you done all the onsite optimisation, including content, inbound links, page URL's etc? If not, I would soley concentrate on this first, then you can concentrate on building your links to your website.
thanks for the comments. Hopefully in time my keyword will rise I believe all onsite optimization is good, im using vbulletin with SEO + a few changes Ive made.
