    i totally agree with fallstar01. you should try to rank for keywords one pages at a time.

    All of you with the pipe character are outta your minds....

    Show me a competitive keyword like "home loans" where any of the top 5 sites have used symbols or keyword | keyword | keyword

    When in doubt ALWAYS look at an industry that spends millions on the web. Insurance, loans, and cars would be a good place to start. None of them use crappy titles.

    I use pipes all of the time with a lot of success. Here's a #1 listing for SEO software. (Note the others on the same page using pipes)

    The sites for highly competive terms like "home loans" are number one for other reasons. (backlinks, content, domain type etc.) however the pipes would NOT hurt them.
