I think all SEO Moz fans now know this , Everyone would be thinking How much SEOmoz paid for the domain name ,

I did the research on the Topic in web archives The domain was registered , back in August 1998 and parked in around 2001 it was redirecting to searchmotor.com which was active at that time but Now it is also Parked, then Mozilla Firefox was offered on it , moz.com/firefox and in 2007 it was again parked, In Feb 2011 , SEOMOZ takes the control as indicated by an internal server error 500.

How much they paid , The deal is kept confidential ;) for No reason

Right now the page is showing and introducing Moz Analytics beta (Marketing analytics software to manage all your inbound efforts.)

On top reads "SEOmoz is now Moz" but I'm wondering how many people will use moz rather than seomoz to get there. Long-time established websites tend to keep receiving visitors through the former domain, which is usually the best known, they are redirecting to moz though

However for the novice surfer "moz" says nothing while "SEOmoz" suggests what they can find over there. Well, at least this is my standpoint around a name like this.

As for the price they had to pay, I have not read anything about, but these article has some details of money invested in this new venture, http://www.geekwire.com/2013/seomoz-moz-unveils-analytics-software/

Yes definately you are right, SEOmoz gives much cleaer view to a new visitor , what this website is about, Though I believe , they wanted to be a bit short on url, Probably that's why they did this ,

word google was never linked to search, before 1999 , after that gradually people became occupied so much that search means Google , SO I think they are Hoping the same, getting out the SEO word to make moz The Brand for SEO,

like "Google Search" is good but just Google is The Best.
