    Guys,

I need help.... I am new to doing SEO myself (I used to get a good to do it for me) and have tried to optimise my own meta description however it appears to have gone wrong...My site is-

    www.ankle-weights-4u.com

Now take a look at my search results for my domain -

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=www.ankle-weights-4u.com&aq=f&oq=

As you can see one of my subpages rank higher because it seems that has the description etc which I actually want added to the main page of www.ankle-weights-4u.com

How do I change this so my main site page has the same description as my highest ranking page?

Note I am using Blogger blogs.

I WILL GIVE ANYONE A PLUS ONE POSITIVE REP FOR A GOOD RESPONSE ON HOW I CAN CHANGE THIS.

if you have access to your files just copy and paste the Meta Tags from the higher ranking page to your homepage. And then replace the Meta tags in the other page with what you want it to say.

no need to copy your higher page meta. but you just write unique title, description for home page related to your keywords.

you just see in both url. have you find some different in url? your keywords occur 2 times in inner page url and in home page url only 1 keyword. so that means google give first priority for url. then title & description.

Each Page on a site or blog should contain a unique and descriptive Title and Description Tag. The title tag should be no more than 65 characters with spaces. Write it so it makes sense to humans, contains your keyword phrase, or perhaps your keyword AND the plural form of your keyword.

The goal of Title and Description tags is to get click through. Ignore the readability factor and it won't matter if you show up in the results.

Meta Description tags wont hurt your rankings that much

The double hyphen URL is useless.....Google doesnt care for them when competing for competitive terms

Also you have a canonical issue in which your site resolves to

    http://www. ankle -weights -4u.com/

    http:// ankle -weights-4u.com/

    (spaces added to stop hyperlinking)

If you fix the canonical issue you should see improvements in a couple months

Every page should have a unique title, description, and keyword tag. The description tag should describe ONLY that page.
