    hi guys,

just wanted to know your opinion about an important fact for seo link building. i will give you an example,so you can understand what i want to say.

If i submit a link of my site to another website that has page rank 5,and my link will be on a sub domain that only has page rank 2....what page rank will google consider? what will be the importance of my back-link, important as a page rank 2 link,or as a page rank 5 link?

    thanks in advance!

It cant be answered unless you know exactly how PageRank is calculated. There are too many factors involved to simply say a PR5 link will give you a PR2.

Forget trying to figure out how Google calculate things and just keeping shooting for high quality links. You'll save a lot of time and effort.

PR is irrelevant. Private Page rank is important but there is no way of knowing that data so far. The green bar on your browser doesn't mean anything.
    Stop focusing on PR.

The only thing to remember is

What is the PR of the page your link is on.
How many other links are on the same page and.
Is your link going to be there in 6 months.

The objective is to get your link on the highest page possible. A PR0 link has no value.

If the PR of the page is 5 and there are 250 links on it. All 250 links will share it. Your link on a PR2 page would then have more value.

And finally, Google will not give you credit for that link for ~ 6 months. Therefore, most links last only 5 months. A PR5 links that is not permanent is worthless.

Then watch out for pages that were linked with javaScript or have the "nofollow" attribute in it. This again, will block the PR transfer.
