Hope this is in the right place. I have about 25 sites all in the same niche, but different products. They are on the same reseller account at Hostgator as stand alone sites. I was thinking of linking them together as one big network for the niche. I seem to remember reading some time back that this linking wasnt good for SEO, but I cant be sure. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance
Thank abcjfk I am looking more to make a network of sites. I,m not looking to gain page rank with my own sites. I would do no follow on the links. I see some bloggers with networks that have all the sites listed in the footers. I would make a page. Are these bloggers all separate that just link together from different servers? Humm????
you can link them all together . no problem is there, You can see alibaba.com footer it have link to all website they have.
If they are all relevent sites and related togeather I don't think it would be to much of a problem. Just look into link farms and avoid them.
The advice I saw from Matt Cutts is that interlinking is Ok if it is of use to the reader - ie if the sites are relevant. He quotes a clothes site, a women's clothes site and a men's clothes site - those interlinks were OK. I have also seen a network of sites (on same IP) that are pr1-2 purely through interlinking - and are doing well in serps.
Thanks for the replies! I think I saw the Matt Cutts post about this. Wasnt he talking about moving domains? Well to take it one step further. What about using the same wordpress theme. Ive heard bad things about that awhile back. Thanks everyone. This is a important topic I think.
It's not necessarily going to hurt you, but you won't get as much link juice. Big G likes to see link diversity.
