Don't imagine to be SEO expert without being content writer. Writing i.e new content is must for good growth of any site you handle.

If you are new to SEO, I think jumping into reading forum threads is likely not the best way to start getting into SEO. Just jumping in and reading forum posts is not going to give you a good foundation and 98% of the time you're not going to know WTH people are talking about.

For me, when I am learning something brand new, I prefer to read a book just so that I have the basics explained to me in some logical order of progression. And $30 for a book isn't a lot to have someone lay out the rudementary elements of SEO in a logical order for you.

There are many books out there on SEO that you can read in a weekend and get a decent foundation... They don't have to be really technical. I would suggest getting a book that was written in the last year, maybe two as the technologies and techniques are quickly changing. Search Engine Optimization for Dummies, for example, really isn't that bad if you know absolutely nothing about SEO. It's a fast read. Search Engine Visibility by Shari Thurow gives a basic understanding of how to mix usability and SEO which you'll later find is a constant battle.

Once you've read one or two quick books, then trolling the SEO forums places like here, WebmasterWorld.com and Google help forums will make a LOT more sense. Even if you don't understand exactly what people are posting about, you'll be a lot closer to understanding and able to ask better questions. There are lots of good websites and blogs out there as well. As always on the web, the tough part is determining which are crackpots who know just enough to be dangerous and which are the real deal.

Thanks all guys specially Canonical for really very helpfull reply.

Will anyone plz share some eBooks, Forums and Blogs on SEO which you think better to start ?

Is there any website available which help to learn SEO in step by step with examples as reading books doesnt make more sense than compare to step by step learning with examples?

Also i read here at this forum that get an expired domain as it is good for seo, now how can we know that we can use this domain for adsense or not as maybe google ban this site for adsense and also from where to check expired domain list ?

Hey @SHFAQ, here are some beginner SEO tips:

Make sure your content is related to the products you are promoting on your website. As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, content is an important element to optimizing your website. If you have a website that is already established, and you just joined Early to Rise’s affiliate program, you can add additional pages to your website that provide quality content that is related to products you are promoting. By having keyword-rich content that surrounds your product promotions, you will be able to drive more quality niche traffic to your product pages. And that can equal more sales.

Meta tags – There are three types of meta tags that you should focus on. First is the Meta Title, which is a brief sentence description of what your website is in a nutshell. Next are the meta keywords. These are the keywords that represent your website. If you were selling sneakers, for example, then the keywords you would use are: new sneakers, basketball shoes, Air Jordan’s, etc. Last, but most important, is the meta description. This should be a few sentences that are “keyword rich” that describe what your website is all about.

By adding your meta tags, search engine spiders have an easier time finding your website, which will help your organic rankings, i.e. how soon you appear on the Google search results page.

Internal linking – If you haven’t already set up any internal links, which is basically an interlinking of your web pages, this is the time to start. On your home page you should have either text links, text ads, or buttons that direct traffic to the other pages of your website. And each page should also have links or ads directing traffic to the home page, About Us page, and other important pages as well. This way your web pages link back and forth.

Inbound linking – The goal here is to have other quality websites point to your website. This is popularly known as link juice. You can setup a free link exchange account on linkmarket.net so you can request link exchanges to websites that fit a similar demographic to yours. You don’t want to link to just any website, but only to websites that are a good match content-wise to your own website, or have similar prospect demographic. I recommend downloading the Alexa toolbar from alexa.com. The Alexa toolbar is great tool for gauging the traffic of websites that wish to conduct an exchange with you.

Sitemap – Creating a sitemap for your website is a great tool to help your website visitors navigate through the different pages of your website. It is a page that lays out the different pages of your website, kind of like a directory that makes it easier for viewers to find what they are looking at. If you don’t have say, five pages or more, then creating a sitemap is not really necessary. Otherwise a sitemap is a must.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Regards,

Go to www.seobook.com and read, http://www.seomoz.org/article/search-ranking-factors is a decent guide, if you can afford it I highly recommend http://www.seomoz.org/store/4 for all newbies, go to www.seochat.com and read the articles from the oldest to the most recent, read blogs from relevant seo sources, etc. Once you have read every possible guide online start reading the forums for tips and trends, DO NOT pay attention to what everybody writes, most of the post are useless and 70% of the supposed SEO experts are clueless. Once you see a member with knowledge (Canonical is one of them) start following his posts.

The next step is to buy one domain for a non competitive niche and start working on it, after a few months and constant reading and testing you should start to understand what works and what doesn't, once you rank that domain in the top 3 get into a more competitive niche and so on. In a year you should have a clear picture. Always have disposable domains available in different niches to test what works and what doesn't.

Never never never believe that you know everything about SEO, do not discard any recommendation without analyzing it first and always keep yourself updated from relevant sources. Find a market that is competitive which you enjoy and keep track of it. Analyze who the top results are getting links from, what content are they adding/changing and constantly check their site structure.

SEO is mostly reverse engineer, once you understand what on site optimization, how to get relevant links and you have tested several techniques the only thing left to do is to analyze top results for the targeted keywords and do it better and more efficiently than them.

Your best friends in SEO are site:domain.com, link:domain.com, cache:domain.com, view/page source (in your browser).

Finally the best tip I can give once you have learned the basics is to follow black hat seo forums, those guys are always up to date with the latest trends and updates. To give you an example they were already building back links from blogs while most people were still submitting their sites to the search engines. Do not use black hat techniques cause you will get banned. Black hatters usually take updated seo techniques and exploit them to a maximum in the shortest amount of time, learn to do the same ethically and following the search engines guidelines.

USE THE FORUMS TO ASK FOR OPINIONS LIKE YOU ARE DOING NOW, DO NOT ASK STUPID QUESTIONS LIKE "what is a backlink and how do I get one? OR YOU'LL GET ON PEOPLE NERVES

It's a bit of self-promotion, but if you want to learn the basics of using keywords for on-page SEO, then check out keywords in seo: the basics. This tells you how and where to use keywords and also gives you examples of code where relevant.

Once you've optimised you site, then get an assortment of backlinks from forum postings, blog comments, directories, article submissions, squidoo or weebly for writing content, mixx digg and propeller for social news and oyax or diigo for social bookmarking, press releases etc. Use a varied selection of anchor text for incoming links. Relevant sites and high pr sites are best.

Make a Blog, Get some Keyowrds you want to target, start experimenting with it to gain High Search ranking positions,
slowly slowly you'll learn on your own about SEO. There is no one who can spoon feed you and teach you SEO,
you gotta learn with your experiments and results. Good luck.:)
