    Hello,

I'm posting because I'd like to get some opinions about SEO jobs for someone who is interested in breaking into the scene on a full-time basis.

Out of all SEO jobs available, including but not limited to forum posting and article writing:
-Which jobs are in highest demand?
-Which topics are highest in demand?
-Which jobs do you consider the most competitive?
-Which topics do you consider the most challenging?
-Give an example of an assignment (ie, an 800-word article for example), including both 1) the topic, 2) the angle and 3) your expectations for style, mechanics, and content

    And overall:
-In what ways have things changed in the past year in terms of both overall demand and quality of output?

    This should be fun...

people might be more inclined to answer you if you didn't make it sound like you were setting homework. :-(

What I mean is: "does anyone have an example of an assignment that they'd share with me so I know the specific type of writing I'd be doing?"

Thanks! (Looks like I won't need to use the "questionnaire format" for my posts here - I swear I do not sound like that!)

I like your avatar, so I guess I'll throw in my two cents.

As far as SEO writing goes, it is usually pretty simple. You need to write a competent article that includes the proper range of keywords at around a 3% saturation. A past job I had just required some research into dyslexia and about 16 200-word articles that explained a whole bunch of angles (teaching dyslexics, dyslexia warning signs, dyslexia treatment, etc..). I got paid about a cent per word (a little low considering that I had to do some serious research, but it was still good money and one of the more interesting jobs that I've had).

As far as your specific type, it depends on exactly what you want to do. You could try and work your way up to an expert level in various topics so that you could get paid more, or you can stay a good general writer who can throw out articles quickly from simple research. A general SEO writer should be able to write about anything. The key is learning to read quickly and pull out key facts quickly. A google search shouldn't take long and a good writer should be able to pull up a few ideas quickly.

The main skill that you'd have to develop would be quick writing. As it stands, I can make a nice bit of change doing SEO writing, since I can type out quality articles at a good pace. If you have to painstakingly brainstorm for each one, then you aren't going to make as much money as you probably want to.

I hope that this helps a bit.
