Yes I agree that SEO nowadays is getting harder and I have experienced that too. What am I doing now to get traffic to my site, is focusing on Article marketing, classified ads and forum participation. I don't need to be on top on search engines to generate traffic, there are many ways on how to market your website right?
yesss... the sole factor is.. increase in competition... people are more aware of SEO now.. a simple business man who posses a website knows and tries to do SEO on regular basis..

I agree with you. SEO is becoming hard day by day. The demand for SEO is increasing. So more and more people do SEO. The competition is high. So its natural for SEO to be difficult than earlier.
I think instead of finding a new ways to defeat the competitors we should try to make value addition to the website, so that end users get maximum possible benefits from his visit. Once Google discovers these you are sure to boost in terms of ranking.
It's become much more fun. The requirements for things have gotten a lot stricter.. more people are using the web now and setting up in those untouched niches. So competing in search engine rankings is extremely hard for some niches.
Marvs, not everyone on this thread or forum knows about SEO. You will quickly learn that there are a number of people on the forums that have a brief knowledge of it but finding industry professionals that work with huge clients is much harder to do. Just make sure that you read information that you can find online and just learn as you go, we all start somewhere.
Yes, nowadays seo has become more difficult as competition has increased and people have become aware of SEO now so everybody is getting their websites optimized and hence competition in the field of SEO is increasing day by day.
I rmb back in the old days, any tom dick or harry could get PR 3 with less than 100 visits a day. Competition is getting higher and google has been changing their algorithm daily.
Do you have the same feeling like me? I think SEO has become more difficult than it was 3-4 years ago. I remember putting a link for my site into my DP signature helped a lot - it moved my site somewhere to the 3rd page on Google for my keyword and I didn't have any other backlinks. Now forum signature links do not help, even if I'm a premium member and my sig links are dofollow. Now I'm struggling to build links as I can, but it looks like SEO is no more an easy thing for me like it used to be before. What do you think? I would especially appreciate the posts of DP members who do SEO for longer time - at least 3-4 years like me. Or is it all just the increasing number of websites over the net and this way the competition is becoming bigger and bigger?
That is true especially in the local business marketing. Google constantly updates its algorithms nowadays. In fact, they do so at least a couple of times a day – every day – which makes high rankings a moving target. That’s why it will become even more important for small businesses to have a solid SEO company on their side
yes i agree with you members, SEO is getting harder, it is just because of Google. Google changes everyday,changes its algorithms which makes SEO little harder. Due to competitive edge among organisations, the past processes are not that much effective as they were, new processes have replaced old ones.
