    I believe that as long as search engine will be alive SEO will be alive too. But as every search engine is modifying their algorithm on regular basis so do SEO methodologies needed to be changed otherwise at some point you will think that "SEO IS DEAD"

    What kind of question is that?

    As long as there is a search button on any search engines, SEO is alive, people would be stupid to think SEO is dead.

    Though social are becoming more and more powerful the websites still requires SEO to get to page 1 of Google.

    Why is SEO dead? SEO is only dead when the search engine overcome all the know SEO tricks known by SEO experts and lately that's what Search engines have been doing especially Google with their updates? Since everything or the search engine algorithms are "scientific" as Google put it and not manually their will "always" be ways to get a site ranking high.
