    I think SEO it is only one big component of the strategy which is now called "Internet Marketing". You cannot achieve good SEO results without proper participation on social media platforms, strategic design implementation, and good knowledge of how to "spread a buzz" over the internet. So in nowadays SEO is only one component of what we call Internet Marketing. It will never die.

    I think SEO is far from dead. In fact, with the recent changes in Google's algorithims, SEO only got more difficult. SEO "experts" are doing away with the old techniques and coming up with new ones.
