Getting targeted traffic from the likes of google is in my opinion the best way to get conversions. Search engines are always going to change and it's up to you as a business to change as well. SEO works, it just depends on how you use it.

 

You have to create a website that people take as a go-to-resource. If you achieve that Google will never penalize you because it would hurt its own "clients" (searchers) and give them a bad rep.

 

I understand what you're saying, and it is about diversity and variety these days. You need to build backlinks using various methods so you have backlinks coming from different source.

I find search engines are tightening the reins more and more, and it's unwise to rely on them solely for traffic. You need to get traffic from other sources. Do not put your eggs all in one basket, they say.

I quite agree with you here. It's certainly not the best idea to be dependent on Google to grow our business. In fact, there are other more relevant sources from which you can get traffic to your website and generate them into leads. Social Media has also been a blessing in the past few years.
The best part is, if your site has a good online visibility, has good social engagement and gets decent amount of traffic, Google will automatically rank your website on its first page.

 

I would give you a like if I was an established member, because you really deserve it. Social engagement and brand visibility are some of the most important aspects of SEO in 2013 and everyone should focus on them. Too bad some people don't seem to get this idea.

Concentrate on your article/post quality.
Personally, I am not hit by the recent Google Updates.
In fact, some of my keywords got a big surge in ranking.
I believe this is due to the fact that all my sites focus on
bringing good content to my viewers.

SEO is dead but Content is not.

 

No SEO is not waste of time if we follow google guidelines and effective link building strategies then seo boost our business.
