Novice Here. Now that my website is up now it's time for me to have it ranked high in the major search engines. By the way I don't know anything about this website stuff, I had my website designed by some guy that did a so so job. I'm not sure what I should do next? Figure out what keywords you want site listed for. Make sure to try for some keywords with less sites listed. Now make sure the keywords are on your site and add your url tosome free directories. Use titles with some keywords in them for each link. You can put the url for the site in your signature in this forum and it might help get it listed in search engines. I would submit to Yahoo Google and Msn to start. Then some smaller ones after that.
No ones really going to work you through the entire process - it fills a book. Read this section of digital point for a few days/weeks and then if you have more specific questions just ask. Don't do that, just put your site in your signature at digital point and search engines will find you.
