This was a pretty quiet release. I haven't heard to much screaming yet, but I am trying this thing out. It's not bad... save for the Microsoft network issue. Give it a try if you like.... SEO Inc ToolBar Lite 1.4 The SEO Toolbar enables users to research inbound links for Yahoo, Google, Google indexed pages, AOL, Dmoz and MSN. Users can determine the total number of inbound links to their own URLs and/or those of competitors in real time, plus the number of links used individually by each search engine in ranking a given site. This eliminates the time and effort involved in researching each search engine separately, while also enabling users to conserve screen real estate that otherwise would be occupied by multiple proprietary toolbars. Marketers can use this information to track their own inbound links as well as those of competitors, keep an eye on the behavior of the most authoritative external sites to ensure that they remain link partners, and map strategies to address losses or deficiencies in their link popularity. Version 1.4 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
From what I have seen it is for IE only, which is suprising given the number of users switching browsers by the boatload. BUT, the tool is pretty good nonetheless. I still use IE for site design, so, it isn't that difficult to use it to use this toolbar.
It looks like a pretty cool thing but it wont be used that much if there's no FF version. They should've made it a FF extension.
Download.com Review of SEO ToolBar Lite Like many free toolbars on the scene, this one seems primarily intended to promote the developer's services. SEO ToolBar gives you quick access to the most-popular search engines, including Google, Yahoo, and MSN. The program's only other function is quite unique but probably won't be useful to everyday users. Basically, the toolbar shows you how many pages a particular search engine has indexed for a certain Web site when you enter its URL into your browser. Unfortunately, this toolbar's poor design hinders this feature, as the only results visible are from Google and Dmoz; we assume the rest of the supported search engines are obscured behind the Get Data button. This free application can provide a Web master with some benefit in its current form, but if it gets a design makeover, it will be an even handier tool. Cyclops.
I use both firefox and IE (for design compatibility) . I've found a firefox utility that's comparable to the SEOInc toolbar: http://quirk.co.za/searchstatus/ -jay
