SEO in Yahoo Site Builder?

OK, I have a friend. (Really not me,) Wants me to help him with some SEO on his site. I checked his key words, not too difficult, am getting ready to commit, and notice. <meta name="generator" content="Yahoo! SiteBuilder/2.3/1.5.0_06"> in the content. Arrrrrrgggghhh.

Anyone have any useful suggestions on how to do this? I will want to rename a lot of his files, add alt tags, H1, H2, edit Metatags. etc. Add internal links, Basic SEO and then some. Can I download his site, do onsite optimization and upload it, and then can he edit it himself going forward with Yahoo Site Builder?

If someone has travelled this path, I would appreciate it, thanks.

I think it may be easier to just rebuild the site.
