    Hi Everyone

I run a home removals company in the uk . With our own website

The thing is that we keep getting removal quotes for people in New York USA .

Why is this ? We are bases in Swansea wales and our pages are local seo based.

if anyone could tell me where im going wrong that would be great

    Many thanks

    Gary

    Hi

Thanks for your reply . I do use Google Webmaster Tool . In the site setting it says
    Geographic target
Your site's domain is currently associated with the target: United Kingdom.
There is no drop down menu to change it ?

Do you know what other reason im getting USA Traffic and not UK

    Many Thanks

Could be a number of reasons. Without actually seeing your site it's a little difficult to point out what it could be.

You need to identify where these requests are coming from... perhaps when one of these people calls up for a quote, ask them where they found your services?

20 a day? Contact a company in New York which does the same and negotiate a commission.

Sort out your on-page problems first.

    For example:
    1. Your alt tags are so heavily stuffed with text.
    2. Ditch meta keywords and abstract.
    3. Your meta description is junk; it is far too long and the furthest thing from a sales pitch. It's not for ranking, but your encouragement for people to click through. Write one that is 150-160 characters and tells people why they should use YOUR service.
    4. The part "Other services and areas across the UK that we service for removal and storage other then Swansea London and Manchester" is a keyword stuffed mess. You need to write this (and any other content) for human visitors and not search engines.
    5. Your URLs and even the domain name come across as stuffed with keywords. Come up with a shorter brand (and domain name), make your URLs human-readable and meaningful.
    6. DON'T write too much text, DO let your visitors know why you are awesome.
    7. DO get rid of that stupid image slider thing. They are so annoying. This is a hot area. You should be using it to encourage people to get a quotation.
    8. Go back to basics - you need to treat this as if you were making a sale to a human in person. They come into the shop, ask blah, you make them feel at ease and as if they are in good hands, pay close attention, provide the information they want, hook them and make a sale. Do this on your website.
    9. DO test your new content on completely non-technical. Test it on "average Joes". What they think and whether they will use your service is important.
In your site's current state I would bounce. I could go on, but it's not worth it. Pretty much if you focus on visitors/audience and not search engines, you will end up fixing most - if not all - of the many problems.
