I have a site .com with hosting in USA and im very well ranked in google.com
but in google.br not so much and i see other sites of the competition are very well with extensions .com or br in that serps but most of them with hosting in br .
I know it can influence positive the change for a hosting in br my serps in google.br buth it can hurt my serps in google.com ??
There is another important factor to take in mind to improve positions in other extensions??

    Thanks!

The main thing you have to keep in mind is that Google rankings are geo-targeted for the most part. .br extensions and sites hosted in Brazil will rank well in Brazil. Likewise with other countries. So, hosting IP location and extension can effect you geo-targeted rankings.

You're welcome. I'd recommend hosting in the US for the .com and hosting in Brazil for the .br and have two separate (unique) sites.

Or, you could follow the example of larger sites like Nike and just have one site with users able to select their region, and not worry about the local. They don't really have to worry too much about SEO because their huge brand drives loads of traffic.

Two separate web sites means double the work load. If the other web site is in Portuguese then I may just go ahead and get the other domain. Otherwise, local search on .br will probably not show your web site. google is trying to address this problem but for now you have to live with it or figure out a work around. Do not copy verbatim english to english for the two web sites on different TLDs.

well, it depends on your targeted business. If you want site in results from a perticular country then make a site related to that or link with them.

    Thanks all for advices.

i have got many links from extensions .br but it wasnt the diference.
My market is for all around the world and the site is in english. I see in other countries google takes by default the extension of the country and it shows the same results that google.br , i think maybe the last diference is with change the host to brazil or do another website .br and hosted in brazil.

    any other advice??

if you want to rank on google.br , you need more backlinks from brezilian web sites (or .br extension web sites). this will boost your ranking on google.br .

move a section of your website to yoursite.br Try moving about 1/3 of your website over. The 301s take a long time to take effect so a better recommendation would be to start a new section on your website but place it on yoursite.br. Maybe some br specific articles. Link it in as if it is just another section of your current website. It shouldn't be more work really, if you just think of it as another part of your main website that happens to be on yoursite.br
