Hello all, i have a website http://www.diyconservatories-and-windows.co.uk/ i have been marketing it, it seems like i only have 1 relevant link to my site on google, but i know there are really good links out there for example my link is on a page where someone in the top ten for the same keyword has there link. does it take a long time for the links to become relevant? does anyone know how long, the major keyword is diy conservatories were on page 2 at the moment, keeps going up and down from 1 to 2 , annoying, thanks for any help neil.
Neil, create a xml sitemap and submit it to google (http://www.google.com/webmasters/). Then, when accesing the control panel at google you will able to see all the backlinks to your site. Also, register an account at http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/keywords/ there you will able to see your links in Google, Yahoo and MSN. Yahoo will show you more acurately your actual backlinks. Plus, you will be able to check your rankings in the SERPS. hope that helps. by the way, your current sitemap shows a "not found" page. You should correct that ASAP.
Or try webuildpages.com/neat-o/ They have re-invented the tool, now shows almost all the backlinks for the website.
No worries, Infact Yahoo is almost accurate ofcourse we can keep both options, for best results, Yahoo and then webmaster console..I saw a few results that were not available at yahoo.. Not sure if that really yahoo
