A little history on my site: I've been running a video game blog for a little over a year now. It has a PR of 5. A technorti rank of 4-5000 and I get only 2000 visitors a day on average. It's a popular game blog that is updated numerous times a day but I want to drive the traffic up a lot more. So, I need some help. I'm willing to pay a knowledgeable SEO for this help, but I don't have much money. I've done basic things like having a sitemap (which I've only included recently), getting it indexed everywhere etc...but there must be things I'm not doing or doing right. I only get about 500 visitors from Google a day, and I know I can get that number way up. So if there's someone out there that could help and would like to PM me, it would be much appreciated. cheers.
Buying links from related, high traffic sites can boost your traffic and get you targeted traffic. Have you tried text-link-ads or linkworth?
You say that you don't have any money but want to pay someone. I'm confused. Anyhow, I would focus on "link bait". Add content to the site that will get people to want to come to the site and link to it, as well. This could be the latest breaking news about a new product/game, pictures of a game that no one else has, rumors about a new video game, etc. Make sure that your site is getting indexed properly and it's generally optimized well, but then focus on content that no one else has on their site. If you want to find out more about link bait, then search at your favorite search engine for "link bait" and I'm sure you'll find a lot more about it and how you can create it to get more traffic and links to your site.
Jump over to http://performancing.com and read all the articles you can read before your eyes start to bleed. NickW has a great resource over there and they have SOOOO MANY good articles on monetization, gaining uniques, and retention for blogs.
Voasi: Thanks! I'll check that out. Bhartzer: Read carefully before you respond...I didn't say no money: "but I don't have much money." I am a bit more ahead than your suggestions, but thank you. The site is aeropause.com I have tried Adwords but it's so expensive! I guess you get what you pay for.
