Hi my names Alex and I work for a leading Contractor Accountant. I have been brought onto the marketing team here with the main job role of improving our online presence and capitalize on online sales opportunities. In such a competitive marketing place, I am struggling to get on to page one in google for the best keywords such as "umbrella company". I know if I can do this in the organic listings it will bring a lot of traffic and hopefully increased sales. I do use Adwords currently and have advertised on various other contractor related websites. I have been writing articles and submitting them to article websites such as searchwarp, amazines etc.. I have been contacting related companies to trying toe exchange links etc.. I have started youtube channels, twitter, facebook, wordpress etc.. I currently have about 100 followers on twitter and not many subscribers on youtube, how can I increase this? What am I missing? Is my website optimized enough? You can look at here http://www.danbro.co.uk Thanks, Alex
by the sounds of it you're missing high quality links, time (which it will take for your website to rank) and it might be worth adding in some sbms they seem to be working wonders at the minute
Sorry what are sbms? I have been trying for .gov high quality website links, but its not easy. If you have any tips? PM if you like. Time wise, the website has been runnibng for a few years, been posting articles for a while but only really started concentrating on SEO over the last few weeks. Thanks for the quick response. Alex
Try this tool http://www.seocentro.com/tools/search-engines/metatag-analyzer.html for checking your Meta tag Status.
Thanks, useful tool. Aprt from being a few characters over on description meta tag and having about 20 to many URL's we are doing pretty well. Is it worth adjusting these in your opinion?
You haven't mentioned if you are targeting your most important keyword evertime. You say "umbrella company" is your best keyword. Then, are you using your best keyword everytime you link to your site? Not only that. Are you also linking your best keyword to the same landing page all the time? If one of these is false, then you are not lazer targeting your keyword that is why you are not getting the ranking you want. Try it.
I have been using for example Danbro -Umbrella Company as the anchor text for the link, and have recently just started deep linking, for example linking to the Umbrella Solution on our website rather than just the home page. Is this what you mean? I have also been targeting different keywords, for example "limited company" "contractor accountant" etc in the same way. Is there anything I am missing? Thanks for your help guys. Alex
What I mean is, if your best keyword is Umbrella Company, then you should use it 75%, if not 100%, on your link building campaign everytime you link to its correct landing page. It would also be wise to keep 2-3 keywords to optimize per page. Other keywords like Umbrella Solution should, if homepage is not the best page to link it, have its own landing page.
You need to have high page rank contexual backlinks to get top rankings, unless you want to build 10,000's of links, as these high PR links, like 5+ are the best. there not easy to come by, you can rent them from people or buy your own domains.
you need quality work and lots of backlinks whichever you can start bookmakring and blog comment posting and also submit press release & article posting..
