I would recommend using the Keyword in H1 - something that gets attention not only from your web site visitors but also from search engine bots :)

what have you got a PHP tag in there? if you are a n00b, why are you dynamically populating your content?

Your main heading that the content on the page is about, preferably in the form of a keyword or keyword phrase.

The H1 is important, but only one part of the onsite optimization.

Don't forget to use H2,H3 and write quality content with good keyword density. You will also need to be checking your Meta tags, these days, less is more. Making huge meta tags and title tags is a no no.

So make it like a phrase ? not one keyword after another. Ok going to have to think about that one, my site is about getting people with exotic sports cars to sign up for a specail tour that is being put on, its in my signature, any thoughts on a nice phrase for the h1 would be apprciated, thanks again.

Unless you have tonnes of pages, I'd suggest avoiding dynamic populating. H1 is fairly important when doing internal SEO. Dynamic populating can be a bit ropey at times. Also, don't repeat the same keyword in H1 too much. Doesn't help one bit.

Also, why don't you type the keyword(s) you're targeting into google, take the top 3 domains ranking for it and view some of their source code for some tips.

    Cheers

In home page, use your blog name as <h1>. But in single page, use your article title as <h1>. As you know, SEO is per page, not per website
