If domain a is pointed to B,
both the domains are in google index but domain a is in ranking
Now if give a request for page removal for domain a so that my domain b can be in the google serp, will it work or not.
as domain a is pointed to b, so whether google would remove pages of domain a only or b as well.

okay i got it. you must have links pointing to domain A and thatswhy it is still in the results. but when nothing is hosted on it, how is Google letting to appear in search results. start building backlinks for site b and if possible edit the links pointing to site A

It will depend on the SEO authority of domain b. If you are doing a 301 permanent redirect, then it could pass ranking power to domain b.

However, in most of the cases, search engines will check whether domain b has same SEO power as that of domain a. If search engines see some similarity in terms of SEO power, then your rankings will get transferred to domain b.
