SEO Help. Can't get listed in search engines

I have a site with about 50 or so pages of content. I am having trouble getting these pages indexed on Google, and most other sites. I already posted a message here, and it got deleted (not sure if I broke a rule or what), so I'm not going to give too much info unless its asked for. I can type in my website's name minus the .com and come back with numerous results on MSN and A9 (all of my pages are indexed here), but on Google, I hardly get anything, and nothing from the new site. What am I doing wrong? I did a sitemap recently for Google, and that hasn't helped at all either. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You have to get links to the site.

Put your site as a link in your signature here and you will see that Google will find it. Googlebot is here all the time.

The signature link won't available right away. You need to have so many posts before that is an option. Hang out in the directories thread and watch for free directories to submit your site to. That is a good place to start.

    Where is the directories thread?

Also, does submitting your site to google, as well as creating a sitemap and uploading it, not get your site crawled by the googlebot? I haven't even began trying to concentrate on keywords or anything like that, i'm simply trying to get ANY of my pages to show up in google, by searching directly for them.

BTW - Thanks for the tips so far, please keep them coming, they are GREATLY appreciated.

Ah, I see. I thought there was some thread that I needed to visit. You meant go there and submit to the free directories. Thanks for the help.

On a sidenote, do you happen to know somewhere I can check to see how many backlinks I currently have? Does a tool exist?

I think a very good way to get you site out there is to write articles and distribute them to variuse article sites like: goarticle.co, ezinearticles.com, ext.
Writen articles shows your customers that you know what the hell your doing, and articles are also picked up well by google. If you concentrate on the keywords that make you money, and put them in the tittle and body, (but mainly the tittle}, You will see your websites traffic and sales sore. also posting in lots of forums helps to. im new to this forum but my favorite forum is ewealth.com, Its no as large as this but lolts of internet marketing fun and information.:)
