Hello SEO guru. I am Adwait and I am new to SEO. I had few threads about SEO in SEO section but now I am totally stuck on it! I am almost totally confused on my KEYWORDS!

To be frank I don't know which keyword should I optimize to attract more visitors.

    About my site: http://www.sportsstatsblog.com/
My site is a blog where I write on almost all outdoor sports. like some coaching tips, few dedications, few facts etc. I was planning to optimize keyword "Sports Blog" but I can see there is about billions of competitors. So I am confused!

Just take a look at my site and tell me which keyword will work almost best for me?

I already got answered many times that "Try various keywords and then decide" but now I am toatlly down! totally confused! So will you help me?

    Waiting for your kind reply

    Regards
    Adwait

Use a keyword tool such as the Google Adwords Tool and try starting with broad phrases like 'basketball coaching tips' - however that'll be too competitive so look for lower competition phrases.

The best combo here is a low competition and high traffic phrase ... but usually you'll have to strike a balance somewhere in between...

i would probably try to focus on the "how to coach" keywords like:

    how to coach soccer
    how to coach baseball
    how to coach basketball

    etc.....

Next time you should do your keyword research before you build your site. Sports is a much too broad term. Your site should have content that is relevant to whatever few keywords you are trying to target and thats it.

Not necessarily.... he / she could section the site to have parts for football (soccer), basketball, baseball etc. ... then sub divide those into coaching / tips, famous players, stats etc.

However it does require that he / she can provide high quality, unique content (regularly) for each section ... which I'd imagine would be tough.
