SEO Google Sites pages

I recently discovered the Google Sites has the web addressing mapping ability. This makes it quite easy to use your domain (ie www.businessgeeks.org) and have it hosted in Google Sites.

My question is, has anyone actually tried deploying a website using Google Sites? Is it difficult to implement on page optimizations? (ie meta data and the like)?

I've never used it personally, but I believe you use an actually use a website builder when using Google sites; if you have the ability to edit the raw HTML then you shouldn't have any problem doing on-page optimization. Just create a new gmail and make a new sites account and see what you can and can't do. :)
