SEO gone wrong

I've been playing with the SEO on my website today bannaz.com and I made a major alteration to the title and keywords.

I used to be on the front page for searches such as "Flash Banner Designer" "Flash Banner Advert" etc, but now I have totally gone off the pages.

Should I put back the old title and keywords? I thought I was on the right path with my changes, but perhaps not? Or should I sit it out and be patient.

Any advice would be great - thanks!

It depends on the traffic that you need. If that was your main business, and now it's gone, I'd say yeah, you should put them back! Though I can't say if you'll get those rankings back...

just follow the proper title keywords and it must me related to content of that perticular pages. if u write content related to web design that u should write content related to web design in that page. just go in that way and u will be back soon. try to get good back links using that phrase as a anchor text.

You should have datewise backup, like index12oct07.htm so that you can revert back to old one.

I think search engines don't likes radically changes on the site. I tried a few time . If you think for short time succes I think it's impossible. So everytime backup your original files.

Today? Is Google that touchy that it reacts to on-page changes that quickly?

The reason why you loss your rank is because you were positioned for those Title and Keywords. It will take time to see if your new title/keywords works better but is it worth risking for? Consider to only apply those new keywords to new pages.

Sounds to me like you simply offset the algorithm weight from your less competitive keyword Terms / Phrases to a more competitive market (Thus dropping in position for the Original terms / Phrases). - Pretty common -

Your choice is now to either revert back to the Original keyword phrase focus for less competition or dig in & start Both On-Page & Off-Page SEO / SEM campaigns to compete for the new Phrases you wanted with higher competition.

I also did that same step, and my rankings dropped down, because the pages were already crawled and indexed and changing it will affect the rankings. but continue link building and stick with the new ones if you think those were the right title and KW... Eventually your rankings will go back or more of your targeted KW will boost up to the rankings.
