Hello, this is my first post here.
Please explain me sense of submiting websites to directories.

    1. Most of directories that I found in Solicitations & Announcements have only homepage indexed in Google. So are they SEO friendly ? Google won't find our links that are in subcategories ...
    2. Nobody uses directories (instead of the biggest directories like DMOZ etc) when he wants to find a website. 99% people are using Google, Yahoo, MSN ...

No traffic, no SEO friendly - is it worth spending hours to add my website to 100-200 free directories ?

Sorry for stupid questions and my English ;)

Those directories are not indexed because they are usually new directories just starting. Some of them will remain like that, some will at some point "die" and some of them (very few) will get promoted well and they will provide you with a valuable link.

The term SEO friendly usually just refers to the fact that they don't use redirects and nofollow on the links.

Generally I believe it is worth it just for those few directories that will get a decent promotion.
