Hello SEO Experts, Would you please tell me which URL is SEO friendly URL. In my site internal pages having .htm extension, it will affect to site rankings. what is difference between .html and htm. which one is most prefferable for seo.. Thanks
typical url www.site.com?cat=1 seo friendly url www.site.com?catgory=fish or www.site.com/fish No Same thing just .html is the standard for html pages and htm was a extension developed for windows I believe. Either is fine.
Nickdating is correct. htm and html doesn't have much of an impact on your SEO. There are references back and forth about the origin of HTM being created on a DOS/Win3.x platform and then grew into HTML as operating systems became more powerful. Is it true? I don't know. I guess it depends on who you talk to at the time. These days there are an extensive number of different extension types that include 3, 4, up to 8 characters! We won't go into a list of them and thier differences though So... the end result is... there is no difference between HTM and HTML except for one letter.
Dear, What do you want exactly. I think that You are confused in seo. If you are looking for seo friendly URL then you simply Put your keyword in URL. And HTML and htm are same. Not worried about it.
SEO friendly URL or Static url-a url which contain name of page or keyword or cotent of page like if a page for nokia mobile then its url must contain nokiamobile word for seo friendly url.Example - weddinggift.com/silk-linen.html .This is most preferable for seo. Non seo friendly or dynamic url-a url which contain "?","=", "&" etc called dynamic url.Example - weddinggift.com/?item=32554 No difference between html and htm .
exactly , you must not use any characters likes : {} [] () or any of these characters in url , goolge rebots will be screw when try to index url . don't use these character for title of post .
Search Engine friendly URL should be bread crumbs type: Let's suppose your site's URL is bbb.com, now you have an article section so it should be bbb.com/articles and you publish an article about topic A. The URL should be bbb.com/articles/topicA. that way it is easier for the SE to crawl your site.
no extension is friendlier than with .html,.php,.htm so better build a link for example: domain.com/categoryname domain.com/books domain.com/toys
.HTML and .HTM have not big difference and another thing if you create keywords or service specific url that will definitely give benefit to you ranking and traffic as well
