How are these links SEO friendly? They use redirects and are therefore worthless to the submitter as Google will not count them as backlinks. Guys, before you buy, check out his source code.

P.S. I love the bit of JavaScript you added to have the real URL address appear in the status bar, trying to hide the fact you use redirects. Classy move.

Thanks for replying with that info. I didn't even look after I saw the previous post about there being an error. Just mentioned to let me know when there's not an error anymore. However, if they are redirects, no need to let me know. :)

The problem is with the links of the submitted sites. They are not www.mysite.com. They are redirects like:

    http://www.directorybox.com/cgi-bin/links/out.cgi?id=118

The main reason (often the only reason) people list in directories is for a backlink. Redirects do not count as one. Obviously you, or whoever wrote the directory script you are using, knew this and were trying to hide the fact that it uses redirects with some clever coding.

I'm sure you are correct in that your category pages are SEO friendly and that Google crawls them well. Doesn't do anyone who submitted to you any good though.

Their real links in the html (on excellentguide.com at least), but why do the links have the extra http:// in them? They look find and go through when clicked, but in the source they look like:

    <a href='http://http://www.moddedmustangs.com/forums/'>Mustang Forums</a>
    Code (markup):
PS - My purchased links have been added in excellent directory, still waiting for the other two. Looks like a great value and good anchors.

It does appear that the links in the "Details" page on all his directories are direct links, just redirects in the main listings. Strange.

that was because the gentleman didn't now include the "http://" like it asked

i edit it and removed the "http://" on the website that was previously submitted:

check again guys, all links are true .html

    This is a quality directory

Thats only on the homepage, new links only appear on homepage for a day, the link within the website are real html pages

the homepage, we will restrict any outbound links to maintain the quality of the website.

I have checked. Say it all you want, your directory is using redirect links and not just on homepage. This is not good. Yes, I know there is an internal static link (buried in a "details" page). However, that first redirect isn't good for the listed site. This needs to be changed.

http://www.directorybox.com isn't even listed in google. I don't just mean it hasn't been spidered, but there isn't even I clickable link. Either a recycled domain or banned.

Not a good start buddy. I'm sure a lot of people here would be interested if indeed they end up at pr6 at the next update and the links were straight html anchors. Good luck though...

The guy isn't trying to dupe anyone. After careful review the FIRST anchor text is a redirect with java - the reasoning though is for counting the hits out. The OTHER 5 anchor text links on that page are direct links. Then on the details page there is a total of 6 MORE LINKS, 5 of which have anchor text and all are direct.

    Checking iWebtool:

    http://www.excellentguide.com - PR6
    http://www.directorybox.com - Unknown
    http://www.directoryreviews.com - PR4

I'm happy paying $20 for the 11 direct links and 1 redirect link on a PR 6 uncrowded directory alone, not to mention getting two more sites.

directorybox.com is a new domain weve added, our prediction is that it want get pr this google update because it was added too late to our collection. If you know quality it is.

Also again i say, the new links on the homepage is not for backlinks, only the links within the catogories.

if you Submit, post you link details

the links that are new appear on homepage day, but this feature will be taken off shortly

    Thanks

Please fix this. I'll PM you my details.

If you look at the backlinks for the site you'll see why this might be a decent deal.
