Anyones knows a good link directory/management script that produces seo friendly urls but does not use .htaccess? The problem is the site is running on a Zeus server and it has different rewrite syntax. I've tried most of the major scripts like: phpLD, eSyndicat, SkaLinks, cpLinks, Barracuda, Duncan Carver's - Link Management Assistant, Directory Script and a bunch of others but nothing works on this damn Zeus thing.
Same with my linkmetro script. When you become an advanced member, you get a free directory script. Generates each directory page into html pages every time you update your pages and post new links. Also page names are made based on category names. So very SEO friendly. Brad
I remember using a "links" directory script. Yes the name is links only. It creates static pages. but you need to run a script each time you approve sum of new pages.
One option might be to install it on a different server. Or install it on a different server, and then use a spider to grab all of the pages. A long time ago we had a page generator that created html pages that could be exported. You could try posting on the forum on phpLD and see if someone has this mod. Also, possibly it might not be too hard to do.
phpLD is very useful but costs money which might put a lot of people off considering there are stacks of free alternatives out there. While it doesn't use it's own mod rewrite, my WordPress Link Directory does adopt WordPress' mod rewrite rules, thus making it, at least partially, SEO effective so I figured I'd throw that out there. However, I will also mention that URLs and their request URIs are less important to Google these days and so static html pages shouldn't be your primary concern.
